To set the tone for the day, to make people laugh out loud, to amaze or to bring a touch of magic to this beautiful day that will be your wedding, finding original entertainment can sometimes be a headache for some future brides and grooms. As a wedding planner for over 9 years, here are some ideas for original entertainment to liven up the day and entertain your guests.

KILLER PARTY, ESCAPE GAME: ENTERTAINMENT TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER

It's not easy to get the wedding atmosphere going when not all guests know each other well. For many future brides and grooms, once the civil and/or religious ceremonies are over, a new stress begins to surface: the evening atmosphere.

Here are two entertainments that I like to recommend to my brides and grooms because they encourage guests to get to know each other while having fun.

Killer Party

If the name of this game scares wedding purists, it is obviously a harmless entertainment that will allow your guests to meet other people. Each guest will have to "kill" as many other guests as possible: each person will receive a card with the name of their target and the way to eliminate them. Each time a guest is eliminated, they receive a new card with a new target and so on. The winner will be the one who has eliminated the most players or who is the last survivor. Impossible not to get caught up in the game!

Escape Game

Your mission, if your guests accept it: to solve an enigma in less than 1 hour armed with clues! The mission's goal is unique and adapts to your wedding theme. Easy to set up, this entertainment is perfect to do before the evening, between two ceremonies, at the end of the reception or even during the brunch the next day. No doubt your guests will transform into budding Sherlock Holmes for a moment!

BISTRO GAMES, OUTDOOR GAMES OR AMUSEMENT PARK GAMES TO HAVE FUN FROM 7 TO 77 YEARS OLD!

Planning to host your reception outdoors? Is your wedding theme country, rustic, or like a village festival? Set up games on each side for both kids and adults to enjoy for a few minutes or more if they wish! Which games to choose? Bistro games (the frog game, Dutch billiards, foosball, pinball), outdoor games (mölkky, petanque, Kubb), or even amusement park games (knock over the tins, hook-a-duck, etc.), you’ll be spoilt for choice!

TURN INTO A TV PRESENTER FOR AN EVENING

As witnesses, you need to find entertainment that can create an atmosphere and appeal to as many people (but above all to the bride and groom!) as possible? Turn yourself into a TV presenter and organize a round of a famous show like Burger Quiz or Vendredi Tout Est Permis! The idea is to pit two different teams against each other, each led by the bride and groom. Each round can be made up of fun challenges (but not ridiculous!), questions about the lives of the couple, etc. It's your job as witnesses to create entertainment that best fits the desires of the couple. Get your pens and papers ready!

ICE CREAM, TATTOO OR VINYL BAR: TRENDY AND ORIGINAL ENTERTAINMENT!

During the reception, guests like to enjoy the canapés while fully enjoying the beauty and atmosphere of your reception venue. To reinforce your theme and offer your guests some original entertainment, opt for small workshops where your guests can serve themselves or make something themselves:

  • An ice cream bar: sundaes, Italian ice cream or even a real ice cream parlor, freshen up your guests by letting them create the ice cream of their dreams! In general, the bride and groom drool at the thought of this entertainment idea!

  • A vinyl bar: we all have a relative who may have an old turntable and unused vinyl records in their attic (or you can easily find them at a flea market!). Why not dust it off and give it a new lease of life by incorporating it into your decorations? Leave it for self-service with the vinyl records available, add a little user guide and let the magic of music happen!

  • A dried flower bar: Poppies, lavenders, roses, dried peonies are in the spotlight this year! What could be more expressive than a beautiful bouquet of dried flowers to delight the eyes of the ladies? As a bonus, this allows you to provide an additional small souvenir for your guests.

  • A tattoo bar: give your guests the opportunity to customize their wedding outfits or proudly wear the temporary tattoo you have created for the occasion! Fun, quick to set up and cost-effective, the tattoo bar has everything to win you over.

THEMED WEDDING PARTY: TAKE YOUR GUESTS INTO ORIGINALITY!

To launch the mood for the evening and to take your families and friends on a journey for a few hours, choose a theme for your wedding party and invite your guests to wear one or several accessories (to be mentioned as early as possible on the invitation):

  • For travel lovers: themes centered on countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Italy (Venice Carnival), islands (Hawaii, Tahiti, etc.), or the Orient are ideal for warm and festive atmospheres.

  • For movie fans: Cannes Film Festival or James Bond themes are chic themes where guests can be transported to a chic and glittering world. Beware of themes that are too childish, sometimes more suitable for birthdays!

  • For those nostalgic for the past: Forget disco and hippie themes that are too strong for enhancing your special day. Opt for themes around the roaring twenties or the 50s where originality will have its place without falling into eccentricity.
