It is easy to classify the former Nord-Pas-De-Calais region as an ordinary region, without relief and with very little glamor. When I hear this, my chti heart usually skips a beat because our Hauts-de-France region is perfect for celebrating your wedding: varied landscapes, original reception venues, renowned gastronomy, and conviviality are the watchwords! As a wedding planner in the Lille region for ten years, I reveal my ten reasons for coming to unite in our beautiful region.

A MULTITUDE OF LANDSCAPES FOR DREAM WEDDINGS

The Opal Coast, the Bay of Somme, the Audomarois Marsh, the Weppes or Pévèle region, the cities of Lille or Arras are all different and attractive places that are ideal for getting married! Each with its own assets, landscapes, and unique atmospheres, the reliefs of Hauts-de-France are full of riches that give weddings all the magic and splendor that such events require.

THE RICHNESS OF ITS HERITAGE

Do you know what the 23 belfries of Hauts-de-France, the mining basin, and the Cathedral of Amiens have in common? They are all inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List! If you want to get married in a character village, consider Bergues and its fortifications, Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, Le Touquet, or Cassel, which was elected "Favorite Village of the French" in 2018. The North has a lot to offer you!

UNUSUAL RECEPTION VENUES

Manors, castles, guinguettes, or renovated farms, Hauts-de-France is full of venues to meet all event organizations. Whether you want a princely wedding with 1000 guests or an intimate wedding with your loved ones, you will undoubtedly find your happiness among the existing offer on the market! Many gems exist and are only known to professionals... Don't hesitate to contact me during your search to find the venue of your dreams! We will discuss this over a good "merveilleux" from Fred :)

EVERY SEASON HAS ITS ADVANTAGES!

As in all regions, each season enhances the landscapes in different ways to bring out various atmospheres. Summer and spring remain splendid times to organize weddings in reception venues with sumptuous parks or gardens. Autumn wedding enthusiasts, you will surely find your happiness among the many forests or estates. There's nothing like a photo shoot surrounded by trees with dazzling colors to enhance the most beautiful facet of nature.

If you dream of getting married by candlelight and the warmth of an attractive wood fire, I would like to recommend winter weddings to you! The longhouses and other enclosed spaces often have rooms with exposed bricks and beams that give secular ceremonies, wedding receptions, and wedding parties an incomparable warm atmosphere!

WEATHER: FORGET THE PRECONCEPTIONS

Another cliché that sticks to our dear region: bad weather. It would be hypocritical to guarantee you the sunshine enjoyed by some regions further south... However, there are many ways to get through the drops thanks to backup plans!

First, plan your wedding in spring or summer to maximize your chances regarding the weather and avoid unpleasant surprises. Then, plan for a gazebo or a room that can accommodate you in case of a "drache" (meaning "a sudden and intense rain" in chti).

EASILY MANAGE YOUR BUDGET WITH A WEDDING IN HAUTS-DE-FRANCE

This is a detail that is ultimately not a detail: the budget! Because you have to talk about money at some point. Hauts-de-France is not a particularly expensive region, and you can even book very sumptuous venues for reasonable amounts compared to other regions such as Savoie or the Parisian region where prices soar for booking an event for a single evening.

FAMOUS CHARMING BIG CITIES

Are you more attracted to cities, their lively streets, and their typical architecture? Our beautiful Hauts-de-France region is full of them! Although Lille wins the tourist and cultural prize, it is often Arras that seduces both for its architecture and its dynamism. Many events take place there, and you will certainly not remain indifferent to its beautiful cobbled streets and its Grand Place.

But the choice does not stop there: Amiens, Hazebrouck, Roubaix (for future brides and grooms who would like to have a rock'n'roll wedding), or even the Dunkirk coast with Malo. Many choices are available to you!

AN... INIMITABLE WELCOME!

Another good reason to get married in our region: the warm welcome! Our reputation is well established, and whether it is my team or my service providers, each wedding is organized and managed as if it were our own. With a smile, good humor, and professionalism! Goodbye to impersonal weddings, we take the time to pamper you because you deserve it! What more could you ask for?

PROXIMITY TO BELGIUM AND ENGLAND

What I love most about my region is being able to go abroad by driving a few kilometers or by train. A complete change of scenery is less than an hour's drive away and allows for organizing weddings in unexplored places in Belgium, England, and even, why not, up to the Netherlands! Do you dream of an elopement, a destination wedding, or simply a change of scenery? You are in the right place.

Tip: some reception venues are more accessible in Belgium, which gives you the opportunity to have a little extra that you wouldn't have been able to get otherwise!

HAUTS-DE-FRANCE: EAT OR NOTHING

Beyond the cliché of Maroilles in coffee, which some grandparents still maintain, the gastronomy of Hauts-de-France is rich and adapts to all palates.

All caterers in the region can offer you menus made up of local products, including characterful cheeses such as Maroilles, Vieux-Lille, or boulette d'Avesne, spéculoos wedding cakes accompanied by a small sugar tart, a small digestif based on Genièvre de Wambrechies to finish the meal, etc. The more daring can offer estaminet dishes:

· Carbonnade flamande: beef stew served in a sauce made from gingerbread and beer, accompanied by beef fat-fried fries, of course. THE dish from the North to die for.

· Waterzooï: stew soup with chicken or fish

· Potjevleesh: typical Flemish dish made from cold chicken, rabbit, pork, and veal in jelly.

For conviviality during the party, you can also rent a chip stand (food-truck) that comes directly to your reception venue!

"Welcome to Chnord!"
